New Regulations Increase Energy Efficiency

clear line

Ibercon warmly welcomes the introduction of the new part L Building Regulations 2007. The new regulations, which were released by the Department of the Environment, Heritage, and Local Government in February 2008, have greatly increased the minimum standards of energy efficiency requirements of buildings.

As a leader in the energy consultancy field, we are aware of the impact the new regulations will have on the market. The regulations will mean a dramatic improvement in the energy rating of a new property. This will lead to increased savings for the consumer once they move into their new property. And when the energy efficiency improves we also see benefits environmentally. So it's good news all round."

The regulations ensure that the building standards will move from the previous C1/2 level up to a B1 level. The regulations also mean air tightness testing will become mandatory for all new buildings where planning permission has been applied for on or after the 1st of July.

Ibercon offer our services to anyone looking to find ways to get their new build up to the required standards, our services include Building Energy Rating (BER) Certificates, Air Tightness Testing, , Thermal Imaging and Grant Application Services.
